In addition, the amount of patents was considered as an important index for employee evaluation. At the Annual Technical Innovation Award, special patent bonus was established to encourage individuals and departments who made contributions to patent filing and implementation. In 2002, several 100 thousands RMB were given as patent bonus to encourage technical innovation.
