  33. Wieliczka • The town of Wieliczka, lies within the Kraków metropolitan area. It is famous for the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The mine was built in the 13th century. It produced table salt continuously until 2007, as one of the world's oldest salt mines still in operation. Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the most precious monuments of Polish culture. Today it combines tradition with modernity as it is both centuries of history and an underground city.
