  1. Haixin Huang May 7, 2013 Time Meeting AGS/Booster Status

  2. AGS Polarization for RHIC 70 Average of last one week is 69.9%. Haixin Huang

  3. RHIC Injection Emit. Changed in 17392 (4/16) (courtesy to Vincent) All emittances are reduced. Haixin Huang

  4. Brief History of Emittance Improvement • The AGS longitudinal emittance growth at transition crossing and injection was removed right before fill 17392 (April 16). Longitudinal emittance was reduced from 1eVs to 0.67eVs. At the same time, the injection and scraping were also adjusted. The AGS emittance was reduced by 5-10%. The additional reduction must be in RHIC. • The injection transverse emittances were lower since fill 17392. No long store between 17392 and 17396. • The first (and consistently later) high RHIC jet polarization for yellow was achieved in fill 17396 (April 18). Haixin Huang

  5. Status • Continue to provide polarized proton beam for RHIC physics program, polarization is near 70%. • eIPM (RHIC type IPM) in the AGS has been commisioned. Clear signals have been seen from the device over several turns. Done by Roger, Steve and Rob. • Preparation work on He3 into AGS is going on (EBIS setup, Booster RF work….). The goal is to improve the transfer efficiency from EBIS to AGS. • Further down the road, we may test the injection-on-the-fly again. Haixin Huang
