Template for ISERN Instructions: Keep your main message short and clear: you can discuss the details in person or provide additional background material to those that are interested in details (Presentation template starts with slide 3 you have max 10 min.) Include the filled in template (slide 2) in this file as a part of your poster Prepare a poster to be available during the ISERN meeting describe the type of research you do, your institution and your background, specifically focusing on empirical research Your poster can be a single sheet, full poster or consist of other single pages that you put together on site Keep the font size big enough so that people can read your message from a normal poster viewing distance Prepare your poster and be prepared to set it up on site before the meeting starts You may have hardcopies of your most relevant papers available as well

(2500 in research and education), 20.000 students • IDI: 45 prof., 75 PhD stud., 11 groups • SW eng. group: (5 prof., 15 PhD stud., 5 res.) • Main empirical research areas: Open source software, Software reuse, Software process and software quality, Research methods and education, Multidisciplinary aspects • Main motivation: access and reuse of empirical data, tools, and results; strengthen the existing cooperation links and establish new links; joint research proposals • Planned contributions: continuous dialog with software intensive companies to affect the direction of software engineering research; encourage companies to the participation in empirical studies; common papers with other ISERN members and joint organization of events; exchange of PhD students

Motivation & Expectation Main motivation for joining ISERN and expectations: • Better access to industrial data and empirical research results • Reuse research results and tools from other research communities • Submitting joint research proposals (EU and other funding instances) • Establishing programs to exchange researchers/developers (especially post-docs) (ex. by Marie Curie Research Networks) • Strengthen the existing academic cooperation links and establish new links and in general improve cooperation between industry and academia

Contribution & Collaboration Planned contributions to the community: • Engage in a continuous dialog with software intensive companies to affect the direction of software engineering research • Encourage companies to the participation in empirical studies • Common papers with other ISERN members and joint organization of events • Exchange of PhD students Current collaboriations with ISERN: • Prof. Reidar Conradi has been in ISERN since 1997. • Joint publications/organizations of events with other ISERN members: Fraunhofer Center Maryland; Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering; SINTEF; University of Bari; Universidad Politécnica Madrid; University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMBC); University of Maryland at College Park; University of Oslo; Politecnico di Torino.
