  1. The Canon of a Disciple Isaiah 55:8-12

  2. 8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways.” [This is] the Lord’s declaration. 9 “For as heaven is higher than earth, so My ways are higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

  3. 10 For just as rain and snow fall from heaven, and do not return there without saturating the earth, and making it germinate and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat, Isaiah 55:10

  4. 11 so My word that comes from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please, and will prosper in what I send it [to do].” Isaiah 55:11

  5. 12 You will indeed go out with joy and be peacefully guided; the mountains and the hills will break into singing before you, and all the trees of the field will clap [their] hands. Isaiah 55:12

  6. The disciple finds God’s ways in the Word(vs. 8-9) • He trusts the thoughts of God. • He trusts the ways of God. • He trusts the timing of God.

  7. The disciple finds God’s purpose in the Word (vs. 10-11) • God’s words are not in vain. • God’s words accomplish what they should. • God’s words work to end He pleases.

  8. The disciple finds God’s redemption in the Word (v. 12) • In this redemption is joy • In this redemption is peace • In this redemption is praise.
