(mostly Speech and Language Pathology, language teaching, Law, communication) You can use your language studies (Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, German, Spanish, French, Sanskrit, Latin, Cree, Hebrew, ESL, etc.) productively towards BA Linguistics degree For a linguist, all languages are equal, so our program supports the learning of all languages Why else become a ling major?

  7. 4- year BA General and Applied Linguistics Stream: B6 Major Requirements* (NB Ling 111,2 –Soc Sc requirement) 21 cu selected from Ling 110.3, 200, 300 or 400-level LING (18cu for 3yr BA); chose ANY LING COURSES with ANY PROFESSORSyou like. Plus 15 cu selected from one or a combination of the following subject areas: (12cu for 3yr BA) -- Linguistics 200, 300 or 400-level LING -- Language: (ANY language, 100-400 level) -- English (Engl structure) -- Computer Science -- Psychology -- Anthropology -- Communication (Rhetoric and Communication RCM) -- Philosophy -- Classics -- Women & Gender Studies

  8. Part A. Linguistics courses requirement: LING 241.3 ,LING 242.3, LING 243.3 LING 248.3, LING 340.3, LING 347.3 Choose 3 credit units from the following: 200-Level, 300-Level or 400-Level LING Courses Language and SPEECH SCIENCES STREAM REQUIREMENTS

So that we know u exist! • Ling 111 Language Structures Learn about the components of language structure – sounds, morphemes, phrases, sentences • Ling 112 Language Dynamics Learn about language history, social functions of language, native and foreign language acquisition, animal communication Where to start?
