  1. Elephants

  2. Elephant habitats Asian elephants inhabit the southern, eastern, and south-eastern parts of Asia. Elephant ears radiate heat to help keep these large animals cool, but sometimes the African heat is too much.

  3. Different species of Elephants The African elephant and the Asian elephant are the only two surviving to species left. The African elephant is largest living land mammal, one of the most impressive animals on earth.

  4. Elephants trunk An elephant's trunk is actually a long nose used for smelling, breathing, trumpeting, drinking, and also for grabbing things—especially a potential meal. Elephant trunks are muscular, flexible extensions of their upper lip and nose of an elephant.

  5. Why are elephants becoming extinct Elephants contain valuable parts such as ivory, large bones and meat. Poachers will hunt and kill elephant after elephant just to obtain these precious valuables to sell or to own. In my opinion Poachers do not care that they are ruthlessly killing a beautiful species, they only seem to care about the price that they will own killing these beautiful animals! .

  6. Why are elephants Getting targeted by poachers They elephants are getting targeted by the poachers because they have special ivory in their tusks in Africa, where magnificent animals like rhinos are killed for their horns or elephants for their tusks. Elephants tusks and ivory is getting sold for a lot of money these days! Were basically encouraging poachers.

  7. Where is the elephant Found? The elephants African Savannah elephants are found in Savannah zones in 37 countries south of the Sahara Desert. African forest elephants inhabit the dense rain forests of west and central Africa.

Elephants are the largest animals on land!  When they are born they weigh between 200 and 250 pounds.  They can reach heights over 13 feet tall.  To be that big and stay healthy, elephants need to eat hundreds of pounds of food and drink about 50 gallons of water every day! Luckily for the other animals, elephants are vegetarians/ herbivores elephants are up to Up to 11 feet.

  10. Why is the animal • endangered The elephants are becoming endangered because the losing there habitat and there being killed for there ivory in the tusks EFN grantee Jim Nyamu is working to raise awareness of threats to elephants by walking more than 650 miles from Massai Mara to Nairobi on a campaign called Ivory Belongs to Elephants.

  11. What does the future Hold for elephants? Because ivory is so valuable to some humans, many elephants have been killed for their tusks. This trade is illegal today, but it has not been completely eliminated, and some African elephant populations remain endangered. In the future many scientist say that elephants will be extinct soon if we don’t start trying to help the poor elephants!
