" Lymphedema is a buildup of lymphatic fluid in the interstitial cells that creates swelling, frequently in the arm( s) and/or leg( s), and also periodically in other parts of the body. Lymphedema can create when lymphatic vessels are missing or impaired (key), or when lymph vessels are damaged or lymph nodes removed (secondary).
