  3. GAYEV: The train was two hours late. What kind of efficiency is that, eh? • CARLOTTA: And my dog loves nuts. • SEMYONOV-PISHCHIK: Really! I don’t believe it! What “stage business” could be happening? How can you explain the way Chekhov constructs this dialogue? Make this make sense….
