  1. Tessellation-repeated geometric design that covers a plane with no gaps and no overlaps

  2. Make your own tessellations!This lesson plan for creating tessellations was contributed by Monique Martin, Georges Vanier School, Saskatoon, Canada.Available at: www.iproject.com

  3. Start with a square. Cut a shape form one side of a tile, tape it on the opposite side directly across from the cut out.

  4. Cut the shape in half, then tape them opposite each other. This is your tessellating shape!
