  3. FYM System Architecture

  4. Customer label On/Off switch Integral SD card reader/writer MENU key PSi

  5. Typical Installation Load Cells

  6. Typical Installation Hydraulic Valve Connection Boxes

  7. Typical Installation Floor Speed Sensor fitted to Motor Beater SpeedSensor

  8. FYM PSi Apollo Features • Application Rate control proportional to Forward Speed by hydraulic floor speed • Weighing – Displays Live weight from Load Cells and self calibrates • Ability to change the application rate on the move • Precision Farming capability • Traceability records with GPS positioning • Beater/Spinner speed monitoring • Pre-Start facility • GPS Forward Speed • Expected technology on a modern high specification spreader

  9. Part 2Software Functions

  10. Startup Splash Screen This can be a custom startup screen with the Manufacturers logo and product name.

  11. Main Operator Display Product Name Forward Speed Live Hopper Weight SpreadingIndicator In Work Out of Work

  12. Main Operator Display Target ApplicationRate Live ApplicationRate Automatic or Manual Control Application RateNudge Pre-Start

  13. Info Display Tonnes Spread Ha Spread Beater/SpinnerRPM Switch between running Totals

  14. Pre-Start Function The Pre-Start Function enables hydraulics for the floor to start moving product before the spreader starts the run. This can be manual or automatically triggered based on the spool lever. Engage Hydraulics and Press Pre-Start Product automatically moves to Beaters Start to Drive Forward once Spreading starts

  15. Self Calibrating Control System The Apollo will automatically calibrate its output while spreading to ensure that the Target Application Rate is always achieved despite variable density and characteristics of the product. The system monitors over a set time period. For example update the calibration factor every 5 seconds. Over this 5 second period:Calculated Floor Speed assumed that is has spread 160kg Weight that has been removed from the load cells however calculates that 200kg have been spread over the 5 second window. Target Application Rate Programmed System will spread at a ‘Calculated Floor Speed’ to achieve this rate

  16. Self Calibrating Control System Based on the previous pages calculations, the calibration factor that is used to establish the ‘Calculated Floor Speed’ will now be adjusted by 25% to ensure that the next 5 second section of spreading dispenses 200kg. To do this it must increase the speed of the hydraulic floor to dispense more product. The same test will then be repeated for the next 5 second sample and continue for the duration of the job, constantly updating the calibration and altering the floor speed to match the Application Rate.

  17. Part 3Future Development

  18. Slurry Door Control There can be two levels of Slurry Door control, Routine 1 will be semi-automated where as Routine 2 can be fully automated.

  19. Slurry Door Control Routine 1 – Semi-Automatic Control Desired Door/Gate Height is entered on MAIN Page: Door/Gate Spool is opened and height is monitored. When target height is reached, valve will stop movement for 5 seconds to allow operator to release spool.

  20. Slurry Door Control Routine 2 – Fully Automatic Control Fully Automatic Control can reduce the number of spools required from the tractor down to one.The spool can be left engaged and all control functions can be via hydraulic valves on the spreader.Controls such as Door/Gate Height and Floor Forward/Reverse can be sequenced to ensure there is always sufficient oil flow.

  21. Slurry Door Control Routine 2 – Fully Automatic Control Empty Spreader Fill Spreader Door Opens to Target Pre-Start automatically initiates when door reaches target. Operator then Starts to Drive

  22. Slurry Door Control Routine 2 – Fully Automatic Control After Spreading Load Spreader Empty Door Automatically Closes* Option to Reverse floor for a set time prior to this to clear door way Spreader ready to be refilled for sequence to start again

  23. Slurry Door Control Routine 2 – Fully Automatic Control – Hydraulic Sequence

  24. Part 4Precision Farming

  25. What can it do? • Apply manure/fertiliser from an application map • Record manure application for traceability and yield improvements • Print out paper records • Output data to SD card for invoicing and farm records • Apply manure/fertiliser via a message from a third party instrument

  31. Precision Farming A pre-defined application map can be loaded to the SD card and automatically vary the rate

  32. Precision Farming The system can receive an application rate from a third party controller such as a John Deere Greenstar, Raven or Trimble RS232
