Where Are You?Genesis 3:1-8 People habitually ask those they care about: “How are you doing?” and “Where are you?” The Genesis 3 account of Adam and Eve also raised the question, which continues today: Where are you emotionally, financially, relationally, physically, and spiritually? 1.God Placed Adam & Eve In The Garden To Grow. The Growth Principle is repeatedly illustrated by God in the narrative of the Garden of Eden. Before he sinned, Adam was naïve and passive; Eve was gullible before she sinned. They both failed to internalize growth in themselves, and Satan took advantage of their weaknesses. Adam needed to grow beyond passivity to assertiveness, naivety to self-awareness; Eve needed to grow beyond gullibility to discernment. 2. The Lord Puts Us In A Position To Protect. Adam was to protect the Garden, his wife, and the Glory of God. We are also charged to protect our testimony for Christ, our bodies as the temple of the Holy Spirit, and the Glory of God at home, in the work place and in the culture. 3. The Lord Places Us In A Position To Love. God demonstrated His kindness, graciousness, consideration and patience to Adam and Eve. He has done the same for all men throughout history and continues today. We love Him because He first loved us, and we are to love Him openly, boldly, faithfully and thankfully.
