The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the head of state, its highest official, determining the direction of the state's domestic and foreign policies and representing Kazakhstan in national and international relations. Territory: 2, 724, 900 sq. km (1 052 085 sq. miles) 9th largest country in the world 2nd ranked CIS country Population:16 millions National currency: tenge (100 tenge= 0.51 euros = 0.68 USA dollars) . Time:Kazakhstan is divided into two time zones: the eastern (main) zone and the western zone. Almaty and Astana are 6 hours ahead of Greenwich Time. Language: Kazakh is the official language. Among state and local political authorities, Russian as well as Kazakh is used.
