When planning significant expenditures, such as a car or holiday, confirm that the business is part of a trade association. Trade associations enforce codes of practice ensuring their members adhere to customer service and safety standards. Membership often provides financial protections for consumers should a member's business face difficulties. Prominent associations include the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) and the British Institute of Professional Photography. Research the trade association's website for customer assurance statements and representation within industries.

  2. Trade Associations have rules and regulations its members must follow called CODES OF PRACTICE.
