EarlyHistoryoftheElectronicMotorcycle Thehistoryoftheelectronicmotorcyclegoesbackasfaras1895—whenonSeptember19,1895,thefirstpatentwasfiledforanelectricalbicycle.ItwasinCanton,Ohio,byOgdenBolton.Onthesameyear,onNovember8th,therewasasecondpatentfiledbyHoseaW.LibbeyofBoston,Massachusetts,was filed foraŶ͞eleĐtriĐďiĐyĐle.͟ TheninLondon,England,duringtheStanleyCycleShowin1896anelectrictandembicyclewasfirstdemonstratedbyHumber,thebicyclemanufacturer. PopularMechanicsintroducedanelectricmotorcycleintheOctober1911issue.Thiselectronicmotorcycleprofessedtothestatementthatthiselectricmotorcyclecouldgoanaverageofseventy-fivetoonehundredmilesonasinglecharge;andhadthreespeedrangesoffour,fifteen,andthirty-fivemilesperhour. Thenin1919,aprototypeelectricmotorcyclemadebyRansome,Sims,andJeffries,withabatterycompartmentthatusedtheundersideofthesidecarseattostorethebatteriesneverquitemadeitpastthetrialstages,eventhoughithadbeenregisteredforuseontheroad. Electricmotorbikeshavecontinuedtoevolvethroughtheyears,fromthe1950supuntilcurrentdays.NowasofJuneof2014,eventhefamousHarleyDavidsonbrandhasmadeitsownprototypeforanelectricmotorbike. AUnitedStatesbasedsupplierofthemarketablecreationandproviderofelectronicscootersworldwideistheZElectricVehicle.IŶϮϬϭ4,BMW releasedthe ͞C-Series͟ eleĐtriĐsĐooters iŶGerŵaŶy.
