As an important rare metal, China has increased the strategic reserve of germanium, in 2013, China collected and stored germanium for 30t, which resulted into the shortage of supply and demand and decline of export. In 2013, the export volume of germanium was 25.82 t, of which, 16.19 t was exported to America, followed by Germany with export volume of 3.593 t. In 2013, the high price of germanium was maintained continually, which brought about confidence for germanium manufacturers to enlarge scale.
