  4. Attention everyone who applied for the newspaper... First of all, we are SO proud of you for applying! It’s hard to believe that OVER ONE HUNDRED of you applied for the newspaper! It was such a tough decision based on your writing sample, your availability, and your desired jobs. For everyone who did not make it this year, we hope you will apply again next year! Swing by the library today to see the posted list of who will be on the newspaper staff. If you are part of the newspaper, you will soon receive a letter giving you more information and the date of our first meeting.

  5. Attention 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students interested in strength and conditioning.  Starting on Monday 9/16 you will have the opportunity to participate in a strength and conditioning program in our weight room.  This will be every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 to 5PM.  In this program you will increase your strength and your conditioning as you learn how to utilize some of the equipment and weights.  Students who want to participate in the program will be dismissed with athletes, change in the gym locker rooms, and report immediately to the weight room.  Please have transportation home be at the school promptly at 5pm

  7. September 15th marked the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which pays tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society. Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. The observation started in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period starting on September 15 and ending on October 15. Check out the display in the commons near the MMS Library for biographies of some of the many Hispanic Americans who have made a positive impact on our country and our world!
