Two methods to observe tutorial • Standard Method • This method allows presentation to be resized to user preference. • Slide Show Method (Example below) • Presentation fills entire screen • Click on Slide Show tab at top of screen • Click icon <From Beginning> • Note: Either method; to advance click the progression arrow in the bottom right corner of each slide or press the down-arrow key.

  3. Before attempting to work in Citrix/SAP you must have a valid username and temporary passwordestablished. Options: (Click the appropriate link if needed) Password Requirements New to Citrix/SAP Forgot Password (90+ days since last slog in) Password Deactivated

  4. Purpose:To assist any user who is new to Citrix and using a computer which has not logged into Citrix before.

  5. We will be accomplishing following tasks: • Installation of Citrix • Log in access to Citrix/SAP • Citrix Usage Policies Let’s get started -

  9. You may use personal equipment while offsite to facilitate this service. However, IT Technical Services is not responsible for loading or maintaining privately owned personal computers. • It is your responsibility to arrange access to the Internet via an Internet Service Provider (ISP). • Due to software limitations, local printing is not guaranteed to work for Citrix applications on the DOT/DPI network or through this service. • You must not share any system or user information regarding this service with anyone either inside or outside DOT/DPI. Specifically, the sharing of user ids and passwords is explicitly forbidden. If another employee needs this service, they must get the proper approval and authorization. • In compliance with the State of North Carolina Enterprise Security Standards and the NC DOT supplemental standards, all usage of the remote access system will be logged and can be audited at the discretion of IT-Technical Services. Privacy is not guaranteed with the use of this system. • This list does not constitute an exhaustive list of rules and procedures and can be updated as needs arise. IT-Technical Services retains the right to revoke access to this service for noncompliance with security policies, at the request of the Unit Manager, or any other reasonable circumstance.

  13. Installation of Citrix via Chrome Web Browser Click link Download and run the client install file. Tip: This link takes you to a slightly older version of the software which has proven to be more stable than the newest version of Citrix Receiver. If prompted to enter a server at the end of the installation, you may cancel that request; the installation is successful.   14. Launch Citrix/SAP Click linkA screen similar to the one displayed will appear. Log in using your Citrix credentials. Citrix Login Actual web address: https://remote.services.ncdot.gov/vpn/index.html

  15. Launch Citrix/SAP Tip: You will be presented with the application Launch Pad. If the SAP application icon is not visible, add it via steps 3 & 4; otherwise skip to step 5. Click Add Apps icon ; then click on the All Apps link at the top of the screen. Select the application SAPThis will move the SAP icon to the launch pad. Click the SAP icon to launch the application.

  16. Launch Citrix/SAP You may notice that appears in the lower left corner of the screen. If so, right-click on the button and choose the option to Open.

  17. Launch Citrix/SAP The application launch process will begin – generating a new SAP window – Starting SAP. When step seven is complete; a new window appears – Citrix Receiver – Security Warning. Click the option labeled – Permit Use.

  18. Launch Citrix/SAP The SAP login screen will be displayed – enter your SAP password. Tip: User Name will be automatically populated. Citrix & SAP are two separate entities and thus require two separate passwords. The may use the same password, however, changing one does not change the other. To return to the main tutorial click the Next icon

  19. Installation of Citrix via Edge Web Browser Click link Download and run the client install file. Tip: This link takes you to a slightly older version of the software which has proven to be more stable than the newest version of Citrix Receiver. If prompted to enter a server at the end of the installation, you may cancel that request; the installation is successful.   24. Password Requirements Purpose:Development of a strong and secure password.

  25. Password Creation • Verify the following: Example(s): • It is original, NOT a repeat of an older password • Length 8 to 12 characters _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ • Password does NOT • Make a proper name. Steve, Hannah, etc. • Make a word found in the dictionary. Dog, Cat, Smile, Happy, etc. • Contain at least one • English uppercase alpha character A through Z • English lowercase alpha character a through z • Numeric character 0 through 9 • Special character ! " @ $ % & / ( ) = ? etc. • Tip: SAP (BSIP) will not allowyou to use an exclamationpoint (!) or a question mark (?) as the first character inyour password.

  26. Password Creation • Verify the following: • It should not be simple nor overly complex. • It is written down and stored in a safe place. • Login Facts: • Log in to your account(s) within 48 hours of a password reset. • Log in to your account once every Thirty days • The first time you log on to the Production system use the temp password assigned; you will be required to change your password. • Security: • For additional security, you will be prompted to change your password every 90 days. • If you do not log in to your account within: • Thirty days, your password is deactivated and will require a reset before access is permitted. • Ninety days your password is deactivated, and your account is deleted; it will require to you submit a new application before access is granted.  To return to the main tutorial click the Next icon
