Question 1: How do sports non fiction authors hook and hold readers? -Sports non fiction authors use the “Hollywood” effect sometimes to hook and hold the reader in their sports non fiction stories. -The “Hollywood” effect is when authors stretch the story to make it more appealing and heart felt to the reader. ("Review: The Blind Side”) -Sports non fiction authors must use reality to not let the reader believe that the story is fake or made up. (“Martin 2”)

Question 2: How do sports non fiction writers persuade their readers? • Sports non fiction writers persuade their readers by using the sport they are writing about to relate to their readers. • In “The Blindside” author Michael Lewis used Michael Oher as an icon for inner city football players to idolize. • Authors can’t just create a sports non fiction books, they have to be real stories. • “When he joined the team, Papale became the oldest non-kicking rookie in NFL history, a fan favorite who played for four years and was named a team captain” (“Morris, Jim. Question 7:Who is the target audience for sports non-fiction books? • Sports non-fiction books can be of interest to many people throughout the world. • Not all sports non-fiction books are about “all man” sports such as football. • A lot of good sports non fiction novels are about touching stories that most mothers would be interested in reading. • For the most part sports non fiction books are for men and women who really enjoy sports and special interest stories about the world of sports.

Question 8: How has sports non-fiction progressed from simple stories, into human interest stories? • Sports non-fiction books have progressed from simple short stories of athletes in the past that were looked upon as boring for most of the readers throughout the world. • Recently sports-non fiction books have turned into true human interest stories. • Books that hook and hold readers are for the most part heart warming and sometimes tear worthy. • Of course there are still just the informational sports non-fiction books that mainly older men find entertaining.
