Lesson Objectives: Students will: Understand the goals and purpose of MDGs and Earth Charter Read and interpret the MDGs in Spanish using contextual and pictorial clues Analyze the first 4 principles of the Earth Charter under the category of Respect and Care for the Community of Life and discuss how these principles can relate not just to global society but also to the classroom setting Identify cognates from Spanish to English Use the MDGs, “La Carta de La Tierra” (Earth Charter in Spanish) and dictionaries to acquire new vocabulary

If you were a member at this summit, what would you choose as the most important developmental concerns/goals around the world? Work with your teammates to develop a list.
