  9. Bay • A body of water extending into land, having a wide opening • Smaller than a GULF

  10. Gulf • An arm of an ocean or sea extending into the land • Usually larger than a BAY

  11. Sea • A large body of salt water • Smaller than an Ocean

  12. Strait • A natural, narrow waterway connecting two larger bodies of water

  13. Canal • A man-made narrow body of water connecting two larger bodies of water Suez Canal Egypt

  14. Lake • A body of water completely surrounded by land Lake Victoria

  15. River • A natural stream of running water that flows into a larger body of water • A River has FOUR (4) parts • Source: where the river starts • Tributary: contributes water to the river • Mouth: where the river ends • Delta: fertile soil at the mouth of a river
