  2. How long does it take to process DNA? TV Shows Real • A few weeks to several months. • A couple days In a television show a toxicology result comes up when it is convenient. But in real life it takes months for it to come through, juries tend to be thrown off because it is hard to believe a test is accurate if it takes so long to process.

  3. How often do forensic experts find useable evidence at a crime scene? TV Shows Real Life • 5- 10 percent of all criminal cases have forensic evidence that can be subjected to DNA testing. • All of the cases on the television shows have forensic evidence that can be subjected to DNA testing.

  4. How often are forensic tests conclusive? TV Shows Real life • 30% of cases have DNA that can be tied to the case at hand. • 100% of the time! At most crime scenes there is little to no usable forensic evidence.
