  2. Packaging • Because looks do matter: • 3-ring binder with clear, insertable cover • Insert name/date page on cover and name on spine of binder • Clear sheet protectors for all supporting items • High quality, bright white paper

  3. Packaging • Use dividers to label each section • Consider a cover page for each section of supporting documents outlining contents • Make it easy to review • Easier to look at if don’t have to remove stapled documents from individual sleeves

  4. Format • Easily readable font • Plenty of white space • Pictures and charts are good

  5. Your Past Narratives Are Your Best Friend If you’ve done a good job on them, you have all the info you need.

  6. Interpreting the Guidelines • Make sure your document demonstrates abilities and competencies outlined in CESP 1-69. • Guidelines for supporting documents are NOT open to interpretation.

  8. County Program Section • Long-term goals of CEC Sub-committees should align with programming in your document • Long-term objectives can directly link to Impact Programs • These goals should frame: • Program planning (section C) • Impact programs (section D)

  9. Impact Programs • You get to pick 3 • One needs to be Youth Development • Different interpretation of what “program” means • Choose Broadly • Think about the program names in AIMS • Improving Human Health & Aging • Horticulture Production & Management

  10. Impact Programs • Which is better: • Reshape Yourself as an Impact Program OR • Healthy Lifestyles as an “Impact Program”, which includes Reshape Yourself, Right Bite, and Strong Women

  13. More tips… • Give yourself enough time to work on your promotion document • Realize that it may have to be done after hours • The pay raise is worth the extra work • Let someone proof it for you and offer formatting suggestions
