Weapons of ww1 . By nick alicea. The rifle. The main weapon used by British soldiers in trenches. It hold 15 rounds and a person can be killed within 1,400 meters. . Machine gun. The Machine gun took 4-6 people to work it and it had to be on a flat surface and it had the power of 100 guns .

  2. The rifle • The main weapon used by British soldiers in trenches. It hold 15 rounds and a person can be killed within 1,400 meters.

  3. Machine gun • The Machine gun took 4-6 people to work it and it had to be on a flat surface and it had the power of 100 guns

  4. Gases • The Germans use gases to kill the men in the trenches so they can get to the other side of the battle field with out killing there own men. • Mustard gas was odorless and you didn’t feel the effects until hours later. Soldiers would die or receive serious chemical burns inside and outside of their body.

  5. Tanks • This was the first time that tanks were used at the battle of Somme. The tank need a crew of 3. the fastest it can go was 3mph and it could not go thought trenches

  6. flamethowers • The flamethrowers were use by Germans in the early phases of ww1 which brought terror to French and British solders.

  7. zeppelin • Was a air ship that was used in the early parts of ww1 in bombing raids by the Germans. They carried machine and bombs. The zeppelin was abandoned because they got shot down easily.

  8. Planes • Planes were used all the time in WW1 and this was the first time planes were used. They were used for bombing runs, spying, and air warfare. They were armed with bombs and machine guns.

  9. Submarines/U-boats • Torpedoes were part of marine warfare they were used by Germans to blow up other ship. • A U-boat launched a torpedo and sunk the Lusitania. Leading America into war.
