  4. Current CMS • 2 years old • Designer no longer works at COE • Insufficient documentation • Site navigation/ design • Hardcoded database • Scalability/ administrative issues

  5. Short-Term Recommendations • Hire a PHP coder • Understand database • Make database links relative • Document current code • Add new features

  6. Short-Term Recommendations • Costs • Time: A few years • Salary for PHP coder • Allows for easier implementation of long-term plan

  7. Long-Term Recommendations • Switch to Joomla! CMS • Open source • Provides templates and extensions • Research extensions • LDAP authentication • Implement existing features

  8. Long-Term Recommendations • Create a test site • Test new features before they go live • Requires database to be relative • Usability study • Test current site and new test site • Outline provided in report
