Parental Allowance Supplement (FPT) for Wage Earners: Overview and Guidelines

The Föräldrapenningtillägg (FPT) offers financial support for wage earners taking parental leave. Effective from January 1, 2014, it provides remuneration calculated at 10% of the sickness benefit income (SGI) up to a limit of 10 price base amounts. To qualify, individuals must have 12 to 24 months of employment and can receive this benefit until the child is 18 months old. Notably, FPT does not apply to temporary parental allowances, including "father's days" and those who are unemployed. AFA Insurance administers and disburses funds related to this allowance.

Parental allowance supplement - wage earners • Agreement between the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and the Swedish Trade Union Confederation • Applies from 01/01/2014 • Remuneration in connection with parental leave • Qualifying period 12-24 months. • A remuneration period until the child is 18 months old. • 10% of SGI (sickness benefit) up to 10 price base amounts • AFA Insurance • administers and pays out the remuneration Föräldrapenningtillägg (FPT)
