  2. The NFPA stands for “National Fire Protection Association” is a trade association of the United Sates, though with some international members. This comprises publications to many from “model building” codes on equipment utilized by the fire-fighters whilst engaging themselves in recue response, hazardous material response, and also some fire-fighting.

  3. In 1896 the NFPA was formed by a group of insurance firms with the specified purpose of standardizing the burgeoning and new market of fire sprinkler systems. Eventually the stretch of NFPA’s influence grew from fire extinguishers and sprinklers to include electrical systems in building-a whole new technology, and then gradually into all aspects of building construction and design.

The edition for this NFPA 99 that states, Standard for Health Care Facilities, was prepared by the Health Care Emergency Management, the Technical Committees of Administration, Electrical Equipment, Gas Delivery Equipment, Electrical Systems, Laboratories, Hyperbaric and Hypobaric Facilities, and Piping Systems, released by the Committee of Technical Correlating on Health Care Facilities and acted on by the NFPA. This NFPA 99 was issued on January 14, 2005, by the Standards Council.
