  1. Atlantic Ocean By: Samid and Darby

  2. WHAT IS A BIOME • A biome is a area where plants and animals live and interact with each other & other organisms. • A biome is also a type of area for example: • OCEAN • DESERT • FOREST • MOUTAINS

  3. Picture and clip of map This is Atlantic Ocean, Between West Africa and South America.

  4. ANIMALS The Sea Lion These plants are all related to our biome the Atlantic ocean because they all depend on it for food and shelter. The Clownfish The Humpback Whale The Sea Turtle The Bull Shark

  5. From the websites we have, we have found that there is not much damage to the Atlantic ocean at the moment. • However bad things are increasing and most of it is pollution from us humans. • Also over fishing is becoming a big thing.

  6. Plants Seaweed Sea grass Algae These are all very important plants. All of them are found underwater and if we keep on on polluting the ocean they might become toxic and not be safe to our environment.

  7. So what is the POLLUTION? • Pollution is when substances such as CHEMICALS or HUMAN WASTE is let into the body of water.

  8. WHY is it HAPPENING? • So most pollution is coming from the land. • When chemicals are put out to help us humans, rain or other water will pick it up and take it to the ocean. • Or smoke will go up into the atmosphere and come back down as polluted rain and go into the ocean

  9. What is OVERFISHING • Overfishing is when a fishing activities reduce the population of fish over a acceptable level.

  10. WHY is it HAPPENING • It is happening because fisherman are getting high Tec gear that can locate large populations of fish. • Also people pay A LOT of money for fish so people get paid to do it.

  11. WHAT are the CONCEQUENCES • If we don’t stop there wont be much fish left and the species will just disappear like many other species.

  12. WHAT ARE WE DOING WRONG AND RIGHT • GOOD THINGS: • One of the good things we are doing is protesting for the rights of the animals and the ocean itself. • Another thing were doing to raise awareness is making posters and flyers about the bad things that could happen if we don’t care about our oceans

  13. Is It Wrong or Right. • It is wrong because it is effecting organisms that have done nothing to deserve it. • It is wrong because toxics are effecting the animals and us. • Finally it is wrong because in time everything will disappear and we wont have anything else to blame.

  15. Surveys! • Is it wrong or right to hurt the ocean for our needs? • Is overfishing ok so we have enough to eat and more? • Is it ok to pollute the sea to get rid of all our waste?
