SCHOOL PROFILE • Founded in 1929 • Located at the CPG North Avenue, City of Tagbilaran • 5 kilometers from the city proper • Total land area of 5, 631 sq. meters • Lot is acquired from the City government and a portion by donation • Non-Central School • Enrolment – 525 • Male – 278 • Female - 247 • Grade I-VI with 2 sections in every grade level • Preschool – 2 sessions

  16. DepEd is implementing a package of policy called Basic Education Sector Reform Agenda (BESRA) with the objectives of improving educational outcomes.

  17. One of the key reform thrust of BESRA is focusing on continuous school improvement of the stakeholders. This is based on the principle that those directly involved in and affected by school operations are the best to plan, manage and improve the school.

  18. Through School-Based Management, Ubujan Elementary School was able to set goals and objectives that directed its course of action for school improvement.

  31. BrigadaEskwela is a nationwide schools maintenance program that draws all education stakeholders – including the private sector — to contribute their time, efforts and resources to ensure that public schools are physically ready for the opening of classes.

  32. To institutionalize the Adopt-A-School Program in the community, maximize civil participation and utilize local resources to improve public schools, Ubujan Elementary School Teaching Force spearheaded the conduct of BrigadaEskwela 2009. The program brought teachers, pupils, parents and community members to work together in preparing our school for school opening. In the spirit of Bayanihan, private institutions/individuals and even the local government units contributed in generating resources for the effort.

  33. During the week-long event, volunteers take time of repairing/repainting of roofs, gutters, walls, ceilings, blackboards, canteen, clinic, repair of chairs, desks tables, windows, doors, comfort rooms, replacement of electrical connections & lighting facilities, repairs & improvement of water facilities & drainage system, school fencing, repaired & acquired computers, masonry work , rehabilitation of the school garden, replacement of signages, Enrolment , School Readiness Assessment Test for Grade I entrants, reconstruction of compost pile (Biodegradable, Non- biodegradable, & Hazardous) and the like.
