Membership in the National Junior Honor Society is awarded in recognition of the qualities of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship that a student has exhibited. It is the highest honor that our school can bestow, and we congratulate These students on this exceptional achievement.   6. Congratulations! For being nominated to National Junior Honor Society at Heizer Middle School. • Inductees are invited to attend a welcome/information meeting in room 114 on April 11, 2013 at 7:50 am. • Next school year (2013-2014) every National Junior Honor Society student will be responsible for accumulating 30 service points. Each point equals one hour of service. Students can acquire 10 volunteer hours during the summer but those hours must be for a true volunteer activity and need to be documented with a picture and a brief report describing what the student did. • Please turn in a copy of the Hobbs Athletic/Activities Code of Conduct. Both parent and student need to sign and date the form and return it to me by May 1, 2013. • My room number is 114 and I have a box in the office where students can leave forms for me. • During the school year students will have ample opportunities to work in volunteer projects and earn the remainder of their 30 points. • Should you have any questions, my email address is portillok@hobbsschools.net
