  1. The local RFKC Advisory Committee

  2. A group that oversees the development and improvement of the local RFKC throughout the year. What is it?

  3. Why have an advisory committee? Goals of advisory committee are to: • Provide opportunity to pray for RFKC • Draw on collective wisdom and expertise of local RFKC personnel • Review and improve the local RFKC • Promote local RFKC “ownership” beyond one or two individuals • Foster team-building and fellowship among camp personnel • Put camp preparations on a timetable

  4. Who are the members? • About 10 people who work at the local RFKC in various roles • Essential members include: Director, Asst. Director, Fundraiser/ Finance person, Child Placement, Psychologist, Curriculum Coor., Pastoral liaison, Counselor • Two or three others from other camp roles: grandpa, coach, nurse, Bible teacher, etc.

  5. When and where do they meet? • Five times a year • Take turns meeting in each other’s homes • Serve refreshments • Note: The Advisory committee reviews and recommends. Smaller task forces can be formed to work out details.

  6. September Meeting “Evaluation and Key Dates” • Prayer • Set Key Dates • Review camp evaluations and select items for discussion • Income/expenditures report from Finance person

  7. November Meeting“Budget” • Resource persons: Finance person, Fundraiser • Prayer • Staff Update • Financial update • Review and approve camp budget • Discuss items from camp evaluations as time permits

  8. January Meeting“Recruitment” • Prayer • Staff update • Finalize interview teams and procedures • Financial Report • Discuss items from camp evaluations as time permits

  9. March Meeting“Training” • Resource persons: Stafftrainer(s) • Prayer • Report from delegates to RFKC Leadership Training Conference • Staffing and financial updates • Review child placement procedures • Review staff training Lunch with Wayne RFKC

  10. May Meeting“Curriculum” • Resource persons: Curriculum personnel • Prayer • Staffing/financial/ camper updates • Curriculum and theme review • Review camp schedule The Royal Court
