  10. Guideline #1 • Be in your assigned seat and working on the assigned Welcome Work when the tardy bell rings.

Mrs. Hollar’s Literature Lounge Today’s SpecialAugust 14, 2013 Welcome Work: Complete Student Interest Inventory Worksheet Objectives: Students will be able to understand the classroom policies and procedures. Agenda Planner:Assignments for each day are written in planner. Review of Classroom Rules, Guidelines, and Procedures Reminders:Tomorrow- AR test dates, project deadlines, etc., to be discussed.

  12. Guideline #2 • Bring ALL books and materials to class AND take them with you when you leave (…including your trash).

  13. Guideline #3 • Follow directions the first time they are given.

  14. Guideline #4 • Treat each person in this room with respect and dignity.

  15. Guideline #5 • Follow ALL procedures and policies as outlined in the VMS and Ashland Independent Schools handbooks.

  16. Special Guideline • This classroom is a “No Whining Zone”. That means that there will be no whining for ANY reason. • Everything that I do is in your best interest, so please…respect the “No Whining Zone” this year.

  21. SEVERE CLAUSE • Any student who uses profanity, fights, damages school property (this includes the property of the teacher and other students), or is disrespectful (as defined by the teacher) will be sent to the office IMMEDIATELY. (with discipline referral)

  23. Entering the Classroom • Please enter quietly • Have a seat • Take out your materials • Review the agenda • Begin WelcomeWorkassignment

  24. If You Were Absent (excused absence) • Go to the Absentee Notebook • Retrieve any handouts • Initial the notebook • No make-up work for unexcused absences

  25. If You Are Tardy • Enter quietly • Excused: Place excuse on the rolling podium/lectern. • Have a seat and take out your materials.

  26. Getting Your Attention I will: Stand in front of the class Raise my hand and/or speak to command attention Wait for everyone to be quiet and focus Begin speaking

  27. Leaving the Room • You MUST have Agenda Book with you. • Must sign-out on Student Supplies Clipboard, as well as sign back in upon return.

  28. RESPONSIBILITY SHEETThis is for students who DO NOT have their work! • Fill it out • Sign and date it • Turn it in with the homework papers

  31. Borrowing SuppliesI expect you to be prepared with the required materials daily. However, I do have a limited supply of materials for your use. • Go to the student supplies cart before class begins • Leave your book for your next class • Obtain the item needed and return to your seat. • RETURN THE ITEM AT THE END OF THE CLASS PERIOD!
