  1. Core Skill: Striking the Ball INTRODUCTION Session objective: Improve players ability to shoot under pressure. Organisation Diagram: 5 4 Organization: 18 players 2 identical grids. Red 1 plays one two with Red 2 (Red 2 decides which way they open up) Red 1 then plays to Red 3 who opens in opposite direction to Red 2 Red 3 then plays Red 2 who takes a touch and plays to Red 4(or Red 5) Red 4 then plays to Red 5 who takes ball back to the start. Rotation: 1-2-3, 3 takes the position of player who Carries ball back to the start. Progression: Red 1 receives from Red 3 (same rotations as before) Concluding Competition: Which group can get back to Starting Point first? 6-7m 8m 3 5m 2 5m 1

Organisation Diagram: 2nd Defender Starting Point Organization: 2 Areas (1 finishing with Left Foot, 1 finishing with Right Foot) 1 Goal with GK, place 2 Poles 2m inside each post to encourage placement over power. 8 players split into 2 teams. Red 1 carries ball and drops it for Blue 1 who takes touch into scoring zone and finishes (as per diagram this is a Left foot finish) Red 1 after stopping ball runs around pole and then becomes active defender. Players then move to opposite line. Adjust distance of Pole according to ability. Progression: Add a 2nd defender - becomes active once 1st Defender stops ball. Team Task: Can you finish on goal as quickly as possible Player Actions: Take a good first touch away from Defender. Can you sneak a look to see where the Gk is positioned. Cues: As the ball is released can you take a first touch that takes 1st Defender out of the game. As you are taking first touch can you look to see where gk is? 16-18m 1 Scoring Zone 1 1 6-8m 1

Core Skill: Striking the Ball Skill Training Game Organisation Diagram: Organization: Area 22m Long x 15m wide 2 Goals with Gk’s Teams play 3v3 with resting teams as bouncers on the outside (1 touch) Players can only finish with 2 touches or less(if they take 3 touches they must pass to a teammate) Team that score retains possession.
