  2. Developing Baccalaureate Programs Development process: approximately 1 ½ years to write, submit, receive approval, and implement. Submit proposals in a timely manner and work closely with the Office of Academic Programs (OAP) during each step of the process.

  3. Timelines/Submission Dates for 2010 • Letter of Intent: No later than October 22, 2009. • Baccalaureate Proposal: No later than January 21, 2010. Letter of Intent (LOI) • A brief description of the program. • The workforce demand and unmet need for graduates of the program. • The geographic region to be served. • An estimated timeframe for implementation. • Documentation/data/other information gained from inter-institutional discussions.

NEED/DEMAND/IMPACT • Each community college must: • Engage in inter-institutional discussions regarding program need, demand, and impact • Collaborate with its local workforce development board(s), chamber(s) of commerce, and/or economic development councils, as well as business and industry partners, to survey service district customers to determine workforce baccalaureate degree needs and demands.
