  1. God’s Work and Our Work 2 Thessalonians 3

  2. God’s Work and Our Work • We should ask one another for prayer. • Prayer binds our hearts together. • Prayer joins us with God’swork. • Spread of the gospel is of primary importance. • We are called to significantwork.

  3. He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need. Ephesians 4:28

  4. As for younger widows, do not put them on such a list. For when their sensual desires overcome their dedication to Christ, they want to marry. Thus they bring judgment on themselves, because they have broken their first pledge. Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things they ought not to. So I counsel younger widows to marry, to have children, to manage their homes and to give the enemy no opportunity for slander. Some have in fact already turned away to follow Satan. 1 Timothy 5:11-15

  5. Four guiding questions for discipline: • Do I have any room to talk? • How does the offense affect the offender? • How does the offense affect the Christiancommunity? • How does the offense affect the witness of the Christian community?

  6. The Lord's Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven,Hallowed be thy Name.Thy Kingdom come,Thy will be done, On earth, as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts,As we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.
