  4. Physical health Describes the condition of the body. What are some examples?

  5. What good physical health looks like Getting enough sleep (how much?) Eating a balanced diet Getting plenty of physical activity (how much?) Practicing good hygiene Avoiding risky behaviors (drugs, alcohol, tobacco, etc.) Going to the doctors

  6. Social health How well you get along and interact with others What are some examples?

  7. What good social health looks like Establish relationships with others (parents, siblings, friends, peers, etc.) Able to communicate with others well Able to express thoughts/feelings/concerns to others Try new things Involved in club, extra curricular, sports, activity, group, etc.

  8. Mental health How well you feel about yourself and how to deal with life’s demands What are some examples?

  9. What good mental health looks like Recognize and deal with stress in a positive way (examples?) Accept new ideas Effectively solve problems Work productively *Poor health in other areas can affect your overall mental health (i.e. lack of sleep, poor nutrition, etc.)

  10. Emotional health The way you recognize and deal with your feelings. Do you express your emotions in a healthy way? Do you deal with all emotions (i.e. sadness)? Are you accepting of your weaknesses?

  11. What good emotional health looks like Expressing your emotions in healthy ways (i.e. using your words instead of throwing a tantrum) Respect yourself Accept your strengths and weaknesses Dealing with all emotions instead of avoiding them

When we select a word or a series of words to repeat in the form of a mantra, we are affirming it to ourselves and allowing its meaning to sink into our thoughts.   19. What does learning styles mean? The preferred method of learning and processing information. Why do you think this is important to know about yourself? What about for your teachers?

  20. The Seven Learning Styles Interpersonal-You prefer to learn in groups or with other people. Intrapersonal-You prefer to work alone and use self-study. Kinesthetic-You prefer using your body, hands and sense of touch. Verbal-You prefer using words, both in speech and writing. Visual-You prefer using pictures, images, and spatial understanding. Logical-You prefer using logic, reasoning and systems. Auditory-You prefer using sound and music.
