Energy Conservation Meter Project Update - Kilowatt Hour Tracker for Home and Building

This project aims to design and implement a device to measure, display, and limit AC power usage, promoting energy sharing and awareness. History • Jan. 2004 – Site team installed solar array • Mahadaga, Burkina Faso • Handicapped Center • Solar pump for Maternity Clinic • Aug. 2007 – Request by Matt Walsh • Sept. 2009 – Project started • June 2010 – Nonfunctional prototype sent to Burkina • January 2012 – Functional prototypes sent to Burkina

  5. Schedule - Milestones • 11/14/11: Complete Enclosure/Wired boards • 11/21/11: Completed electronic hardware testing of meter • 11/28/11: Programming complete • 12/12/11: System testing and 5 completed meters • 1/2/12: Site team trip to Mahadaga, Burkina Faso
