Programs Semester Program Four areas of focus: • Culture & Civilization • Gender in Indian Society • Sustainable Development • Environment and Health in Modern India Electives: Fine Arts and Languages – Sanskrit, Kannada or Hindi Duration: 4 Months
Programs Short Term Courses • Customized courses as per the requirement of the Universities. Duration: 2 Weeks - 2 Months. Health Programs • Medical Elective Programs Duration: 4 Weeks • Global Health Program Duration: 2 Weeks

Course I - Culture & Civilization The course comprises of 5 units: • Placing India in Space and Time • Introduction to Indian Philosophical Foundations • Indian History • Archaeology and Art • Indian Society and Family and Modern India Cultural Excursions & Events add value to the classroom teachings.
Course II - Gender in Indian Society The course attempts to introduce: • Myriad ways by which gender exercises its influence on Indian society. • Creation of gender identities and gender barriers. • Emergence of movements, which identified and protested gender hierarchies
Course III-Sustainable Development The objective of this course is: • To introduce students to the development of India. • To critically examine the current discourses on the domestic, sociological, economic political and ecological / environmental effects of the current model of development.
Course IV Environment and Health in Modern India The main objective of the course is: • To introduce students to India’s Environmental and Health traditions as well as to its major contemporary scenarios. • To provide an overview of the Traditional Health Care (like Ayurveda, Siddha & Unani) and Modern Health Care Systems in India. • Holistic approaches to health care and environmental conservation.

Evaluation Pattern for Semester Program The evaluation is done based on the: • Papers written • Attendance • Participation in the classroom activities.
