  3. AIMS • Red cross aims to provide help for major natural disasters or personal crisis. • Their main aim is to bring assistance without discrimination, to prevent human suffering and to protect human life and health.

  4. The international red cross and red cresent mission are worldwide campaigns which share equal status and responsibilities. • Red cross is a humanitarian foundation that’s supports disaster relief and recovery by providing shelter , food and medical help.

  5. MAIN PROGRAMS • Emergency service in Australia • International programs • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people • Social inclusion • Stronger communities • Protecting people in war • Migration support

  6. EMERGENCY SERVICE IN AUSTRALIA: • responding to emergencies and providing humanitarian assistance in Australia since 1914. INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM: • promote safer, healthier and more sustainable lives for people.

  7. ABORIGINAL PEOPLE: • support families and communities. SOCIAL INCLUSION: • People who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. • People with mental issues • Justice and the impacts of imprisonment • Vulnerable older people STRONGER COMMUNITIES: • Young people • Children and families • Food security • Support stronger communities

Donating • One way you can help the Red Cross, along with others, is by donating ones own blood. 13 14 95 is the number you can call the find out more about donating, or if you prefer you can just visit http://www.donateblood.com.au/. • Clothing or household goods . • By calling 1800 811 700 you can simply donate over the phone, or you mail money to the Red Cross’s address, online donations are also available too.

  12. Where do your donations go? • Red cross uses the money to build shelters and supply medical aid in disaster stricken areas. • It builds water tanks and also provides food and clothing. • Blood donations help save lives of people in war zones and of people suffering from rare blood diseases.
