  21. Performance Control panel • Versatile functions • Clear tactile response • Is located on the dentist’s console and optionally on the assistant arm • Advanced Instrument Safety Logic for 4-handed dentistry: The instrument last activated by foot control will stay active until returned to the holder, thus allowing service of the other instruments

  22. Performance Optional Plus-package • Individual chair position programming for 4 users • Programmable timers • Instrument power programming • Low-speed micromotor control • Advanced spray functions

  23. Performance Planmeca Intracam AF • Integrated intraoral camera • Advanced auto focusing system • Lightweight handpiece, only 80 g • Freeze-save commands from unit foot control • Ergonomic viewing from the integrated flat LCD monitor • Available as 6th instrument for HT console

  24. Performance Multifunctional foot control • Unit, chair and instrument controls • Rigid and stable construction • Advanced technology • Operating logic can be selected (vertical or lateral speed/power control)

  25. Performance Multifunctional foot control • Hands-free operation to ensure asepsis -> Positionning the foot control intelligently next to the unit’s “foot” provides an easy access for the dentist and for the assistant if necessary • There are no wearing parts (uses capacitive system) and it has small size and stable cast zinc construction • Foot control is equipped with solid state switching to eliminate microswitches and to provide maximum reliability

  26. Performance Planmeca Delight operating light • Compact size • Excellent mobility • Uniform light field • Correct color temperature • Changing the bulb and the protective fascia very easy • Programming with the Planmeca Compact unit • Functional and hygienic • Small reflector, easy to position with one handle (handle cover removable for autoclaving)

  27. Performance • The new Planmeca LED operating light provides optimized illumination with four large, powerful LEDs • They allow viewing all the areas of the oral cavity with extreme accuracy • LEDs also ensure constant power and colour temperature and, with a lifespan of over 50 000 hours, are virtually maintenance-free

  28. Performance • The infrared sensors of the Planmeca LED enable the on/off switch and the light intensity change simply by waving the hand in front of them • Waving the hand shortly in front of these sensors switches the operating light on or off • To adjust light intensity, the hand is to be kept longer in front of the sensors • The light intensity adjustment ranges from 50 % to 100 %

  29. Performance • Easy communication from the integrated flat LCD monitor • Direct access for the dentist to all clinical information • Mobile mounting arm • Pivoting • Tilting

  30. Hygiene • Planmeca Compact makes it easy to convince the patients of the high level of hygiene at the dental practice • Planmeca Compact makes it easy for the dental team to follow rigorous infection control procedures

  31. Hygiene - external hygiene • Uniform and smoothsurfaces are easy to clean • The metal body has a resistant and hygienic epoxy paint finish – does not get distorted with the disinfectants and is impact resistant • The standardupholstery with rounded forms is easy to maintain • The (non-PVC) ultra upholstery cleans effortlessly with soap and water

  32. Hygiene - external hygiene • The rounded form of the glass bowl makes it easy to clean it. It can also be removed for a cleaning in a washing machine. The glass as a material remains intact after use of many years • The suction holder covers are smooth and have no dirt traps. The suction activation is by auto-adaptive inductive sensors, which eliminate the need for difficult-to-clean micro switches • The suction tubings are easily removed from the cuspidor and the HVE as well as the saliva nozzle can be disassembled for cleaning and autoclaving

  33. Hygiene - external hygiene • Needle bearing and spring balanced OP-ARM -> Competitors use bellows or other difficult to clean parts for the articulations • Instrument console is covered with an autoclavable hygiene membrane (silicon) which is easily removed and put back to its place. The membrane also protects the console against hits of the instruments, silences the noise caused by the instruments and prevents the instruments gliding while not in use

  34. Hygiene - external hygiene • The console cover is an integral moulded plastic piece which means that there is no possibility that any cleaning agents sprayed on sit can enter the instrument console and cause damage • The floor is easy to keep clean thanks to the integrated design of the unit and absence of traditional junction boxes and umbilicals

  35. Hygiene - internal hygiene • The target of the internal hygiene is to guarantee that the water that gets into the patient’s mouth during treatment is clean • As a general rule the unit must not decrease the quality of the water available from the inlet

  36. Hygiene - internal hygiene Waterline flushing programs between the patients (a) and in the beginning of each clinic day (b) • Short waterline flushing • Intensive waterline flushing

  37. Hygiene - internal hygiene Short waterline flushing(30 s / selected hose): It is recommendable to flush the instruments every time by water before sterilizing them. The standard non-return valves and Contamination Prevention Valve for turbine prevent impurities from getting into the instrument hose, but flushing helps additionally to avoid the hardening of impurities into the narrow lines of the handpiece during autoclaving

  38. Hygiene - internal hygiene Intensive waterline flushing (total 120 s + glass filler operation) should be done in the beginning of each clinic day in order to replace the stagnant water that has been standing overnight in the waterlines with fresh water. This reduces any overnight or weekend microbial accumulation into the waterlines

  39. Hygiene - internal hygiene Anti-contamination barrier for turbine Planmeca Compact has a patented anti-contamination system, which prevents any back-suction to occur. The newest turbine models have also an in-built protection against the back-suction phenomenon. The anti-contamination system for turbine causes that it takes 2-3 seconds for the turbine to stop after the foot control has been returned to its rest position. The anti-contamination system functions automatically for all turbine tubings attached to the instrument console.

  40. Hygiene - internal hygiene Planmeca Waterline Cleaning • Optional system to assure high level of internal hygiene • Assures removal of microbial biofilm • Periodical treatment with Planmeca PlanosilTM cleaning liquid • The cleaning procedure is highly automated. • Unlike systems that utilize a continuous disinfectant supply system, the Planmeca solution leaves the treatment water free of chemical residues

  41. Hygiene - internal hygiene Contents of PlanosilTM • Hydrogen peroxide: ~ 2.5%, Silver: ~ 0.012% Advantages • A long-term effect • Inhibits recontamination • Odourless • Neither carcinogenic nor mutagenic • No foaming • No gaps in effectiveness • Environmentally friendly • Biodegradable • Does not enter into chemical combination with any other chemical element • A long storage life

  42. Hygiene - internal hygiene Cleans the unit’s internal waterlines completely, including: • Main water valve • Water filters • Pressure regulator • Cup filler line • Instrument waterlines nurse syringe (optional)

  43. Hygiene - internal hygiene Clean Water System Utilizes a container as a source of water to the instruments. Clean Water System is useful if the domestic water quality is not sufficient for dental treatment. Steripump Sterile Water System True sterile water system that exceeds the quality of even the best competing alternatives.

  44. Specials Dental school features • Program lock: chair, unit and instrument programming disabled • Control for instrument flushing • Limitation of micromotor speed to 50% • Special suction arm with limited movement range • Unit meets the special needs that schools or institutional clinics have

  45. Specials Tray table alternatives: • 1-size tray: 194 x 296 mm • 2-size tray: 296 mm x 380 mm • NA-size tray: 9” x 13,9” • 2-size integrated tray: 280 mm x 370 mm (only HT) Suction arm alternatives: • Ergo suction arm (only BAL) • Adjustable suction arm • Left/right suction arm • Adjustable suction arm with keyboard • Left/right suction arm with keyboard • Chair-mounted left/right suction arm with keyboard
