General Information • Building is 70,000 + SF • Once all moves are complete the TED will house ~ 200 people • TED Building is designed and constructed to be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certified. • DOE Requirement for new construction • LEED certification provides independent 3rd party verification that a building project is environmentally responsible and is a healthy place to work. • DOE also requires 15% of out buildings meet “High Performance Sustainable Building” requirements. The TED building along with the Test Lab and Test Lab Rehab will provide the bulk of square footage to meet this requirement

  6. General Information • TED Sustainable Building Features • 80% of the building heating and cooling requirements will come from 174 geothermal wells. The 10% “extremes” from conventional systems. • Solar hot water is used to heat domestic hot water with conventional system backup. • TED will operate using ~ 40,000 BTU/SF; Lab currently operates similar buildings using 100,000 BTU/SF • Toilets will be flushed using “gray” water (reclaimed water) • Restrooms use low flow water fixtures • Building has a “cool” roof; high insulation and reflectance. • Used products with a high recycle content • Improved indoor air quality by using low-emitting materials • Recycled construction debris

  13. Additional Safety Items • Emergency Drill • Evacuation drill planned for 1st week of occupancy • TLD Badge Racks will be installed on 1st Floor • First Aid Cabinets • AED will be installed on 1st Floor

Conference Rooms • Conference rooms • Four large • Four Small • Reserved through the online calendar • One small ad hoc meeting room – not reserved • A/V equipment • will be provided in 7 of the rooms • Larger conference rooms have one wall painted to act as a white board “idea wall” • Do not remove any conference room furniture from the rooms

Office Moves into TED - 1 • Move Dates • SRF Office move date is 17 March • Engineering move date in April (TBD) • Move Process • Packing should be complete by 5 PM on Friday before the move. • Movers will relocate to TED on Saturday. • Report to TED the following Monday after 7 AM. Enter through the front door • What to move • Contents of desk, files, bookcase, office trash and recycling containers • Label all boxes with new room/workstation number • What not to move • Furniture, equipment, or phones • There will be a container for phones

Office Moves into TED - 2 • Computers • Computer Center will set up a mini help desk in the lobby the Monday following office moves to assist in getting everyone connected • Printers/Copiers • Shared units will be provided or relocated by computer center. The colorQube going in on the second floor will be named cs33 and cs12, which is moving in with SRF, will stay the same name. • Phones • VoIP (voice over IP) phones will be provided. Instruction booklets are available online. • When you arrive the first morning call Ext 7155 from your new phone to have your phone transferred to the new location

Office Moves into TED - 3 • Signage • Temporary Signs will be in place…permanent signs are on order and will arrive in about a month • Permanent signs will have a space number and room for an individual’s name and group name • Mail • Initially mail will be delivered as internal to 1st floor mail boxes. • Address changes will be provided separately • Eventually US Mail will also be directly delivered. • Wall mounted mail slots will be provided for work groups • Others will Reuse your Move Boxes • There will be a designated place to stack them

  19. Office Moves into TED - 4 • Office Remaining Material – Monday Following Move • Usable furniture will be redistributed. Contact Lamont in there are needs • Pictures/etc will be removed from walls and stored until new location determined • Items to be Moved into Test Lab Addition • Needs to be tagged with room number • Excess Material/Storage for future use in Test Lab • Using Test Lab High Bay for staging • Items removed to off site storage weekly • Keyboard Trays, Chair Mats, Task Lighting • Will be available through the Stockroom in 2-3 weeks

  20. Technical Space Moves into TED • SRF Technical Space Moves will occur the week following the office moves • David Fazenbaker will coordinate with each individual group

  21. Getting Around • Parking • CEBAF Center or EEL parking lots • Service Yard • No privately owned vehicle parking • Delivery vehicles/GSA vehicles/Golf Carts • During Transition • Marked walk path will be established between Test Lab and TED

  22. Building Rules • Visitor Entry • Initially front desk will be vacant • Recommend visitors call you to let them in the front door • Will need to sign in/out at front desk (Same procedure as VARC) • Will have a sign on the front door • Lockers • 14 men’s and 14 women’s lockers provided • Locks applied only during use, not overnight • Do Not Post items on walls or outside of workstations • Exception office/name signs • No-Smoking • Within 25 feet of any door • In front of the building • Smoking Shed will be relocated
