  2. Linear List • There Are Two Types Of Linear List :- • Restricted • General

  3. Restricted Linear List • As Seen Before Stacks And Queues Are Also Linear List . • They Are What You Will Call Restricted Linear List (Can Be done Specifically).

  4. General Linear List • The General Linear List Is Not Restricted As The Stacks And Queues. • They Contain The Usual functions Insert And Deletion. • They Can Be Done In Any Part Of The List

  5. General Linear List Con’t • There Are Six (6) Common Operations :- • List • Insert • Delete • Retrieve • Traverse • Empty

  6. List Function • The List Operation Creates A New or Empty List. • The Format For Creating A List Operation Is :- • list(listname)

  7. Insert Function • The Insert Function Is To Insert A New Element Or A New File Into The List. • The Format For The Insert Function Is :- • insert(listname,element) • listname Is The Name Of The List • element Is The Location Of The New File.

  8. Delete Function • The Delete Function Is To Delete An Element Or File From The List. • The Format Of The Delete Function Is :- • delete( listname,target,element) • listname Is The Name Of The List • target Is The File Location Of The File To Be Deleted • element Is The File Name

  9. Retrieve Function • The Retrieve Function Is To Retrieve An Element From The List. • The Format Of Retrieve Function Is :- • retrieve(listname,target,element) • listname Is The Name Of The List • target Is The File Location Of The File To Be Retrieved • element Is The File Name

  10. Traverse Function • The Traverse Function Is Done Sequentially Where Each File Is Scanned One By One. • The Format Of The Traverse Function Is :- • traverse(listname,action) • listname is the name of the list • action is what to be done to the list

  11. Empty Function • The Empty Function Determines If The List Has Items In It Or Not. • If The List Has Items In It Returns False And True If It Have Items In It. • The Format Of The Empty Function Is :- • empty(listname)
