Differences Hospitals and buying medicines Scotland • We have a free health care system for all residents and are permitted to be in the UK. • The NHS (National Health Service) covers all of the cost with grants from the government. • Only dental care costs you money, from the age of 18+ Norway • Norway also has a free health care system for all residents. • The Norwegian Government covers all costs. • And like Scotland you pay for dental care from the age of 18.
Differences Hospitals and buying medicines • Hungary • Free hospital medical treatment (if you have a job and insurance) • No card is needed • One state-insurance system (political reasons) • The government gives money to hospitals (sometimes you have to wait for surgery) Germany • Not totally free hospital treatment if you have an insurance (you have to pay 10 Euros per day you stay in hospital) • for medicine you have to pay a small percentage of the price even when you have an insurance, the insurance doesn’t cover medicine you can buy without prescription
Differences Hospitals and buying medicines • Bulgaria • You must pay for medical treatment in hospitals after you are 18. • No card is required. • Health Insurance is provided with certain jobs. • You can visit your dentist three times a year for free but, you must pay after you have gone more than three times. • Belgium • Hospitals are not free • Insurance card: you get money back at pharmacy • Different insurances (political reasons) • You do not have to wait for surgery.
