  1. Photoshop CS6 • Photoshop is a photo editing software. • It is used to edit digital photographs and create digital artwork.

  3. Photoshop vs. Pixlr.com • What are some of the features that Photoshop and Pixlr.com share? • Pixlr is fine for the home photographer. Photoshop is the “Industry Standard” for Graphic Designers.

  5. The tools are arranged in a way that all of the selection tools, drawing tools, etc . Are near to each other.

  6. Some menus expand. To see all of the tools in one menu > Click and hold.

  7. Pixels make digital pictures. • Pixels are tiny squares of color, or shades of gray, that make an image. Pixels are usually measured in inches as ppi. (pixels per inch). • The greater the number of pixels there are, the sharper the image is. • The greater the number of pixels, the larger the file size is.

  8. How can I find the image size? • Image > Image size. A dialogue box pops up.

  9. Raster vs. Vector • Photoshop uses RASTER images. Raster images are made up of pixels. When raster images are enlarged. The quality of the image decreases.

  10. Vector Images • Vector images are well suited for the web or large scale printing because they do not use pixels. Vector images are made up of lines, curves, colors, and position properties along a path or shape.
