Homework and Study Guide for Submarine Quiz and Density Calculations
On February 28, 2014, students are assigned homework focused on studying for an upcoming quiz on submarine buoyancy and fluid density. The tasks include writing five review questions with their answers for a speed studying game on Monday. Students must finish their review questions during flex time or lunch. Additionally, the assignment involves checking textbook answers with a partner, completing a Density Demo observation activity, and drawing density calculations in their notebooks. Resources include videos for practical understanding of fluid density.

February 28, 2014 – YAY! Homework: • Study for Quiz, Come to me with any questions during flex- time, or schedule time with during lunch- • Finish writing 5 Review Questions and Answers for Monday’s Speed Studying game! Do Now -Write down Homework • Open notebook to page 83- Submarine /Section Review H.W • Open Textbook to page 87
Check Answers with a buddy • Figure 13- Answers: How does the weight of the submarine compare to the buoyant force in each case? • # 1: The weight is greater than the buoyant force • # 2: The weight equals the buoyant force • #3 : The weight is less than the buoyant force • Section 2- Assessment: • 1C: Because the object floats – the weight of the displaced water equals the weight of the object, 340 N. (N=Newtons) • The buoyant force on the object equals its weight, 340 N

Fluid Density in Action -Observe Density Demo: -What do you notice is starting to happen? • Which liquids used have a greater density than water? -Draw and color in notebook
Density Calculations- Use fig. 11 Do a Math Double Check!
Write 5 Review Questions • Write 5 review questions and answers that you think would be on a quiz/test from Sections 1 & 2. • Use your notes and textbook as a resource • These questions will be used to quiz each other- so make them informative yet- Challenging!!
