  2. Early life Was born in 1822 on April 27 in Ohio. His nick name was Ulysses s.. He was older then his alder then his six brothers and sisters. Went to school with one room. Was chosen president in 1869. He was a general in the American civil war. He was not that good at being president but good at being a general

  3. Life Before He Was A President He was a farmer when he was growing up. When he was 17 he joined the Army. He went to the Mexican war. When he joined the army they put the wrong name and he liked that name so he changed his name to it.

  4. Being President He was the 18th president of the U.S.A. He was a republican. He was only 46 years old when he was elected for president. He was president for two years. Shyer Colfax and Henry Wilson were his vice presidents.

  5. Later Years A couple of people wanted him to be president again but he said no. His family moved out of the White house in1877 in May. He wanted to go see the world. He went to many countries.

  6. Fun Facts His grand son visited him during the war and he watched his granddad battle in the war at Vicksburg.
