  4. OBJECTIVE Foster a lifelong love of instrumental music specifically, and all music generally. INSTRUMENTAL DEMONSTRATION

  5. GOAL Perform age appropriate quality literature. Learn to produce ear-worthy sound Learn first 5 notes Play recognizable song(s)! INSTRUMENTAL DEMONSTRATION

  6. PLEDGE Empower instrumental students, through an atmosphere of mutual admiration and mutual respect, to be successful in their pursuit of stated goals. INSTRUMENTAL DEMONSTRATION

SCHEDULE • First Week • Students arrive at WES at 7:55 a.m. 1 mile and under = provide own trans. 1 mile and over = Middle School bus if seats are available (info. to follow) • Students go to WES band room • Band period: 8:00a – 8:30a • Go to homeroom w/instrument – take instrument home same day. • 1 Day a week until After Easter (info t.b.a.) • 2 Days a week until Concert (info t.b.a.) INSTRUMENTAL DEMONSTRATION

  8. Special Presentation/Performance • 12/t.b.a. – Special Concert with……….. • Represent WES Student programming INSTRUMENTAL DEMONSTRATION

  9. LIVING ROOM CONCERTS PARENTAL / FAMILY AUDIENCE HOME PRACTICE / ENCOURAGE PRACTICE: 15 MINUTES 5 DAYS A WEEK The more you put into the bank, the more you get out of the bank. INSTRUMENTAL DEMONSTRATION

  10. INSTRUMENTATION BAND AS A TEAM BASEBALL 9 POSITIONS BEGINNING BAND HAS 7: Flute, Clarinet, Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Bells, Percussion INSTRUMENTAL DEMONSTRATION

  11. BEGINNER NEEDS • Essential Elements 2000 Book 1 • Music Stand • DVD Rom (computer/Ipad) • Soft reeds for sax & clarinet • Valve oil for trumpet & French horn • Slide oil for trombone • Drum kit including bells for perc. • Care and Maintenance (see sheet) INSTRUMENTAL DEMONSTRATION
