  2. Manasseh’s Heritage • Hezekiah was his father. • 2 Kings 18:1-7 • 2 Kings 19:15-19 • 2 Kings 20:1-6

Manasseh was VERY wicked. • His wickedness was like that of the Canaanites. • 2 Kings 21:1-9, 2 Chronicles 33:6 • Rebuilt high places. • Raised up altars for Baal. • Built altars to idols in the Temple. • Made his son pass through the fire. • Set up Asherah in the Temple. • Witchcraft, soothsaying, spiritists, mediums, sorcery • Shed much innocent blood (2 Kings 24:4).

  4. God led him to repentance. • God pleaded with him. • 2 Kings 21:10-15, 2 Chronicles 33:10 • God punished him. • 2 Chronicles 33:11 • Manasseh repented. • 2 Chronicles 33:12-19

  5. Manasseh’s Legacy • 2 Chronicles 33:17-23 • 2 Kings 24:1-4

  6. God’s Amazing Grace Manasseh was guilty of: • Gross personal sin • Leading others to sin • Corrupting his family • Ruining a nation God forgave him!

  7. How great is our sin? Of what are we guilty? How many times have we been guilty? 1 sin per day for 10 years = 3652 or 3653 sins (depending on Leap Years) • Lying • Stealing • Cheating • Fornication • Drunkenness • Murder • Rape • Unloving • Unforgiving

  8. God sees them all. Hebrews 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God will bring every work into judgment,Including every secret thing,Whether good or evil.

  9. God wants to forgive us. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

  10. God will forgive us. Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together,”Says the Lord,“Though your sins are like scarlet,They shall be as white as snow;Though they are red like crimson,They shall be as wool. John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

  11. God will forgive us. 1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. Mark 16:15-16 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

  12. Be Saved Today! • Believe – John 8:24 • Repent – Luke 13:3 • Confess – Matthew 10:32-33 • Be Baptized – Mark 16:16 • Be Faithful – Revelation 2:10
