Te AkorangaTuawhitu – Session 7 • What did we do last session? • Review the use of tēnākoe, tēnākourua/kōrua and tēnākoutou and other vocab from our first few sessions • Use TE, HE & NGĀ • Learnt 15 new kupuingoa/nouns – naming words We are learning to: • Use TE, HE & NGĀ confidently • Work at our own pace – self directed/marking worksheets • Play naughts and crosses without a vocab list or notes • Design a children’s book using Te He & Ngā Next Session: • Publish children’s book in the computer room • Use TĒNEI, TĒNĀ & TĒRĀ • Use ĒNEI, ĒNĀ & ĒRĀ

  4. The Te, He, Ngā - Rules Review the Te he nga rules Te = the (singular) e.g. Te kūtai = The mussel Ngā = the (plural/more than 1) e.g. Ngākūtai = The mussels He = A (singular) e.g. He kūtai = A mussel He = Some (plural/more than 1) e.g. He kūtai = Some mussels

Working at Your Own Pace - Traffic Light Worksheets Heimahi 3/Activity 3: Individual Time – From Pipi up to WhaiParirau • Choose the worksheet(s) that relate to the traffic light colour you chose for Te He & Ngā • If you are a green light – you may need a dictionary to help you While the class is working on worksheets – I will see you individually to mark your homework

Designing Your Own Children’s book Heimahi 4/Activity 4: • Divide 4 pages in your 1B5 into 4 – rule lines • Draft your childrens book – the first space is your title page • The next 5 spaces are your Te pages • The next 5 spaces are your Ngāpages • The next 5 spaces are your He pages You may choose new words that relate to the moana for your books OR use the words we have used in the vocab list This is only a draft – don’t spend heaps of time on your pictures – we will use clip art in the computer room next week. When I have a one on one conference with you next week you should be able to translate every page in your book
