  3. Important Points: Undergraduate Courses • Three years Integrated Course. • Divided into 6 semesters. Two Semesters at each year • Evaluation: • Traditional Courses: Only External Examination: 100 marks • Self Financing Courses: Internal Assessment (25 marks) & Semester End Theory Examination (75 marks) (refer circular no. UG/15 of 2016 dated 15.06.2016) • Passing criterion : 40% (in each component separately, wherever applicable) • Examinations & Results at the end of each semester. • Award of Degree based on cumulative performance at each of the six semester.   4. Terminologies : Credit System • PROGRAMME : B.A. Programme, B.Com. Programme , BAF Programme etc. (Degree  Programme.Traditionally we refer to these as Degree / Diploma / Certificate) • Course: In the traditional terminology this is referred to as Subject. • Every Undergraduate Programme is of 120 credit points.   26. REVISED EXAMINATION SCHEMEONLY FOR TRADITIONAL COURSES • For FY from 2016-2017, SY from 17-18 and for TY from 18-19. Assessment and Declaration of results of Sem. I to Sem. IV at an by the College. • Additional Examination for Sem. I to Sem. IV to be conducted by the College. • Norms of Passing, Gracing, A.T.K.T., Unfair means applicable as earlier. • Norms for Photocopy and Revaluation revised from the examinations conducted in first half of 2016. REVISED EXAMINATION SCHEMEONLY FOR TRADITIONAL COURSES Indirect Implications / Inferences: • This scheme is NOT applicable to students admitted to FY in 2015-16 or earlier appearing for ATKT Examination. • Passing Criterion, Norms of Promotion to next semester, Gracing Norms, Applicability of O.5050 etc. remains the same. • Examinations of FY and progressively of SY will be conducted under the common question paper and common examination time-table set by the University.   28. REVISED EXAMINATION SCHEMEONLY FOR TRADITIONAL COURSES • Instead of 7 point Grading System, Regular students of FY will be graded on 10 point scale. • A.T.K.T. Examination for students admitted to First Year prior to 2016-2017 will be conducted by the college as per OLD pattern (at least for next 3 attempts i.e. Oct. 2016, March 2017 and Oct. 2017) • Additional Examination will be conducted for absent students only as per existing norms. • A.T.K.T. Examination for all the FOUR semesters will be conducted for failed students as per the existing norms. Prin. Sunil B Mantri

  34. Passing Standard • To pass in a course (subject) a learner must score 40 out of 100 marks with minimum 10 marks out of 25 in the Internal Assessment andminimum 30 marks out of 75 in the Semester End Examination. • To pass a course the learner shall obtain minimum grade E in each course and project wherever applicable in a particular semester.   35. A.T.K.T. (Allowed To Keep Terms) • 100% promotion from ODD to EVEN semester i.e. I to II, III to IV and V to VI • II  III: Should not have failed in more than 2 courses EACH at Sem. I and Sem. II taken SEPARATELY. • IV  V : Should have passed Sem. I, Sem. II, Sem. III and Sem. IV in Full OR Shall have passes Sem. I and Sem. II in Full and secured ATKT in the Second year by failing in not more than TWO Courses in each of Semester III and Semester IV OR Shall have secured ATKT in the First Year by failing in not more than Two Courses in each of Semester I and Semester II and have passed Semester II and Semester IV. • Can appear for Sem. IV : IRRESPECTIVE OF THE RESULTS AT SEM. I AND SEM. II. • Result of Sem. VI will be declared : passes each of I,II,III,IV & V in full Prin. Sunil B Mantri

  36. A.T.K.T. Science (Allowed To Keep Terms) • A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester II irrespective of grades obtained in each course of Semester I. • A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester III if he/she passes (grade ‘E’ or above in each course) each of Semester I and Semester II OR He/she fails in not more than three courses, in each of Semester-I and Semester II (For all Science Programmes, carrying total 900 or more marks). He/she fails in not more than three courses with not more than total 200 marks, in each of Semester I and Semester II.(For all Science Programmes, carrying less than total 900 marks.) • A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester IV irrespective of grades obtained in each course of Semester III. However learner has to pass either of Semester I or Semester II in order to appear for Semester IV Prin. Sunil B Mantri

  37. A.T.K.T. Science (Allowed To Keep Terms) • Learner shall have passed Semester I, II, III and IV in full OR Learner shall have passed Semester I and Semester II in full and secured ATKT in Second Year by failing in: For programs with 900 and above marksin not more than Three Courses in each of Semester III and IV For programs with less than 900 marksin not more than Three Courses with not more than total 200 marks in each of Semester III &IV OR Learner shall have passed Semester III and Semester IV in full and secured ATKT in First Year by failing in, For programs with 900 and above marks in not more than Three Courses in each of Semester I and II For programs with less than 900 marks in not more than Three Courses with not more than total 200 marks in each of Semester I & II.   38. A.T.K.T. Science (Allowed To Keep Terms) • A learner shall be allowed to keep terms for Semester VI irrespective of grades obtained in each course of Semester V. • The result of Semester VI shall be kept in abeyance until the learner passes each of Semester I, Semester II, Semester III, Semester IV and Semester V in full.   39. Carry Forward of Marks • Candidate to appear for the Internal Examination, if he/she fails in the Internal Examination & passes Semester End Exam. • Candidate to appear for the Semester End Exam, if he/she fails in the Semester End Exam & passes Internal Examination. • He/she shall be entitled for grade obtained by him/her on passing of the complete course.   40. Additional Examination : Internal Assessment for Courses with Practical (A&C) • A learner who is ABSENT FOR THE SEMESTER END PRACTICAL EXAMINATION • Will be awarded marks for the Journal & Viva component (out of 5 marks each) ONLY • Will LOSE THE 10 MARKS FOR THE LABORATORY WORK. • Will be awarded marks for overall conduct and active class interaction (out of 5 marks) • His marks for the Semester End Practical Examination will be taken as out of 10 and internal assessment will be calculated as out of 25 marks and not 15 marks.   41. Additional Examination : Internal Assessment (A&C) For courses without practical A learners who is ABSENT FOR THE CLASS TEST will be allowed to appear for the additional class testand the internal assessment will be calculated as out of 25 marks. This test will be conducted 20 days before the commencement of the Semester End Examination. Prin. Sunil B Mantri

  42. Examination for students who appear and failed (ATKT Examination) As per Circular no. UG/61 of 2015 dated August 20, 2015A.T.K.T. Examination for (i.e. examination for students who appeared and failed in the regular examination) Semester I to IV will be conducted only in the month of October and April every year for all semester.   43. ADDITIONAL EXAMINATIONS : Internal Assessment & Semester End Examination • To be conducted for Semester I, II, III and IV. • As per circular no. UG/43 of 2015 date 04.08.2015, the Additional Semester End Examination will be conducted for students who did not appear for all or for some courses on medical ground or for representing the College / University in Sport, Cultural Activities, activities of NCC / NSS or Sports Training Camps conducted by recognized / competent authorities or for any reason which is considered valid under exceptional circumstances and to the satisfaction of the Principal or Head of the Institution. • The absent student to be allowed by the head of the institution after following the necessary formalities.   44. Procedure for eligibility to appear for additional examination of Internal Assessment. • Appearing for the Additional Internal Assessment Examination is not a matter of right. • The applicant must submit a written application in duplicate, addressed to the Principal, within 8 days of the conduct of the exam in the prescribed format along with the necessary documents to the college office. Take the acknowledgement of the application submitted. • The list of eligible candidates will be displayed on the College Notice Board at least 8 days prior to the conduct of the examination . Prin.   45. Internal Assessment : Re-Examination • For Courses without practical: Examinations will consist of one project of 25 marks divided into 15 marks for the documentation of the project, 05 marks for the presentation and 05 marks for the viva and the interaction. • For Courses with practical: Examinations will consist of practical examination of 25 marks which will be divided into 15 marks for the laboratory work, 05 marks for the Viva Examination and 05 marks for the Journal.   46. Semester End Additional Examination • Time Duration : 2 Hours and 30 minutes • Question Paper Pattern as per the guidelines issued by the corresponding Board of Studies. Prin. Sunil B Mantri

  47. When to conduct the Additional Examination The Additional Examination must be conducted between 20 to 40 days from the declaration of the result. Prin. Sunil B Mantri

CONVERSION OF MARKS TO GRADES AND CALCULATIONS OF GPA Abbreviations and Formulas Used • G: Grade GP: Grade Points • C: Credits CP: Credit Points • ΣCG: Sum of Product of Credits & Grades points • ΣC: Sum of Credits points • SGPA: Semester Grade Point Average shall be calculated for individual semesters. (It is also designated as SGPA) • CGPA: Cumulative Grade Point Average shall be calculated for the entire course by taking all semesters taken together. Prin. Sunil B Mantri

  50. Other parameters: • GRACING:Additional provisions are made to Ordinances 5042A, 5043A, 5044A, 5045A and 5046A in view of the Grading and Credit System. • MODERATION: As per Ordinance in force. • VERIFICATION, REVALUATION : as per new VCD /1 of 2016 dated July 1, 2016 (applicable for examinations conducted from 1st half of 2016.)
